Water Tracker: WaterMinder App Reviews

Time Zones

The idea and implementation of the app are great. When I was in PST I found the app quite useful. However, when I came to IST (UTC +5) the app seemed to continue to remind me about my glasses of water through the night instead of the day time. So it seems like the app doesnt handle time Zones very well. If that is fixed I think the app would have been a 4 star. For 5 stars - it would have been great if the app could find a way to gradually increase my water intake to meet the daily goal.

Great app!

Really helps me keep hydrated after a bout of GI issues. Any possibility of adding in milk alternatives?

Filler up

I like the simplicity and the reminder. I didnt like that I couldnt add to the day after midnight. So I have to make sure I enter shortly after a glass.also accidentally pressed add but it wasnt the right number of ounces.

So close!

It needs to be able to track pace! Its dangerous to consume too much water at once since it will flush your electrolytes and do more harm than good. Look to the "trago" app on how it trace pace and not just an end goal.

A Great Water Tracking App

For years, I had been drinking water on a regular basis, but with this being my second water tracking app, this one has proven to be extremely useful. Because of its ease of use, whether on the iPhone or the Watch, that is why Ive been using it. Also, the UI is very streamlined, and we (the end users) can easily use it to track not just water, but other types of beverages too, such as juice, milk, and more. Best of all, when I first started using it, I saw that it had some "starter" literature that gave detailed accounts of why we should drink water, which made me use it all the more. As a result, Im using this every time that I drink something. Now, if Apple could modify their "Water" setting in the Health app to show other beverages you are drinking (instead of all your liquids, no matter what type they are, ending up under the Water category!), then we will have a more complete picture of our health. Other than that, this app is definitely useful in tracking liquid intake!

Really does help me stay hydrated!

This app does what it claims to do!!

Great until you forgot that you should open it to sync

I really adore this app since it is effective and easy to use. I use the 3d touch shortcuts and notification widget to Log data so I seldom open the app. WHAT ANNOYED ME since I got to a point where I am too busy that I forgot to open tHe app itself and it didnt SYNC my water logs in a week. That is disappointing since I am so eager to track my water logs. I hope they have a SYNC bar or notification to at least let the users know if the data synced in the Fitbit app. Or let the app store logs for maybe a week or month so it could sync.

Great app ,

Great app , excellent built quality. Remind me stay hydrated

Perfect

One of the best water tracking applications I have tried. Well done!

Useful for Liquid Tracking

This app is useful for tracking other liquid consumption such as coffee and juice. The reminders are a nice touch too.

Great reminder to stay hydrated

Love getting the reminders to stay hydrated throughout the day. It helps me while Im busy with life to take a water break.

So far it’s working!

Very easy and intuitive. I am a few days in and I’m already drinking a lot more water. I like the reminders. Motivating. I also like that I can look back in time to see if I’m doing better or worse.

Life Changer

It sounds dramatic, and sad, but I was always one of those "I hate water" people. The only time I would genuinely crave it would be after working out. I started using this app about a month ago and my water intake has skyrocketed, Ive even lost some weight because Im not eating out of boredom anymore I drink enough water to keep me full between meals. Im a visual person so I appreciate the graphic of the persons body filling up. I dont have a bad thing to say about this app.

Good App!

This is one of those apps that does what it claims and has a UI so well crafted that no recommendation for improvement is needed. Kudos to the developer.

Hydrating the dehydrated

Im a person who works out constantly but never receives the recommended amount of water. This app is great to remind you to drink often. As a child psychologist Im always walking and standing so I really enjoy the constant reminders to hydrate.

A Must Have

I have been using WaterMinder for a couple of months. It keeps track of hydration, allows for customization in settings and gentle reminders to keep you on pace to meet you daily goal. Badges/Rewards are presented for accomplishments. You can see you data/stats within the app for quick review or integrate stats in the Apple Health app.

Great App!

Does just exactly what it says it will do - simple and elegantly designed. Love that its possible to add consumed liquids (coffee, juice, energy drinks, wine...) and not just water. Only critique - it would be wonderful to have some other (more varied) options for silhouettes to choose from.

Works. Simple. Clean.

I like this app. Sure, you could use any app to track water intake, but this dedicated app has a really intuitive interface and entering info is easy. Plus, I like the water filling visual. It makes me smile. We all need more of that!

Staying hydrated

I thought I drank enough water daily, turns out I do not. This app has helped me in more ways than I thought. Not only am I drinking more water I feel more awake. My skin feels better, not as dry. Only down side is... I use the rest room like every hour :)

Good app, lots of room for improvement

Ill start by saying that, ultimately, I deleted the app from my phone... mostly because I found I actually do a pretty good job of keeping myself hydrated. This make logging my liquid intake and the reminders to drink water pretty annoying after a few weeks (even when I reduced frequency). There are a few tweaks that I think would make me more likely to keep the app or reinstall it in the future. 1) Allow the user to make presets that arent water! I make and consume the same amount of coffee daily, adding this in is tedious and annoying - especially given point 2. 2) Change the volume input selection. The slider with decimal points makes picking the proper volume annoying. Either manual input through a keyboard or a scroll selection (think setting the time on the iPhone or selecting the beverage type) would be a huge improvement in terms of usability. 3) Smarter reminders! Im not sure of the feasibility of this, but if there was some way to make reminders only pop up when Im falling short on my goal or havent recently logged a drink would make me more likely to input my drinks and less annoyed with the reminders.
